There are four ways that a shipper can be covered for moving:
1. Homeowners Insurance. Shippers are often covered by homeowners' or renters' insurance. Call your provider or agent.
2. Movers provide $.60 per pound per article free of charge. This means if you have damage to an article we take the weight times $.60 or fix it whichever is less expensive.
3. Depreciated or actual valuation. This depends on the age of the damaged item. With each year of ownership your goods' value goes down 20%. That means a five-year old object is worth nothing.
4. Full replacement valuation. This is figured out with a formula of weight x dollars to get your valuation amount and then a premium is attached. Inside Moves offers this with a $250.00 deductible and a $500.00 deductible.
Inside Moves Relocation Services is happy to provide full replacement valuation to you on request and under special circumstances.
NOTE: We need to know what type of insurance you've decided on prior to the date of your move.
